Interlude - August flowers in Victoria

The first four photos were taken at Butchart Gardens.

Above: a sunflower.

Gazania.

Cleome or spider flower.

Dahlias always make me think that autumn is not far away.

In a yard: glory bush (Tibouchina).

This year seems especially good for white daisies (or daisy-like flowers), making white my favourite flower colour this summer. These were at Government House.

Butchart Gardens. Okay, not a flower but one of the many Hebe plants.

Flowers & float planes

The springlike weather continued this past weekend in Victoria. More trees are in bloom. So are some forsythia, daffodils and pink rhododendrons

Spring flowers at Government House.

The harbour was full of activity as we walked along the path on the Laurel Point side.

Butchart Gardens September 12, 2009

Summer made a surprise return and it was baking hot. We stopped by Butchart Gardens for a stroll and a chocolate/vanilla swirl soft ice-cream cone. This was my favourite photo of the day (although it loses something in small size).

Out and about last weekend

Nice springtime weather last week... but not much in the way of photos.

Below is a scene along a country road in Cobble Hill up-island.

Back in Victoria, trees are blossoming all over town. This one was at Government House.

From there we spotted many sailboats out on the strait. Maybe they were having a race.

At Butcharts the indoor garden is now finished but it hadn't yet opened back up as a restaurant. Here are some of the flowers outside.
